Today is Memorial Day and I'll post a bit 'different. I always start the communication course, but using a special, very personal. First things first. In all over 700,000 people, 40,000 died in concentration camps. They were not Jews. They only had to wear a uniform because of the Italian Army . On September 9, 1943 King Vittorio Emanuele III, Marshal Badoglio and dozens of members of the government, Army and Royal House ran away from Rome, unarmed but with luggage, in a hurry to go to Brindisi . No order given to troops, were left in disarray, with a true act of treason against them made by the person who had sworn to obey . Left to themselves, the soldiers were Italians, except on rare occasions, easily captured. Were not considered "prisoners of war" (as the Geneva Convention provided) but "inmates" virtually no rights and forced to work. Do not talk about anyone.
Why do I say this? because my grandfather, Armando Polesel, was one of them , was an infantry soldier stationed in the current Croatia, a sergeant who was captured and deported. He returned to Italy ill and died a few years later, young, leaving a wife and three young children. Last year, after much insistence by my father, have awarded a medal of honor (required by Law No 296/2006, also the little publicized). Today, 27 January 2011, we must remember " the Holocaust (extermination of the Jewish people), the racial laws, the persecution of citizens of Italian Jews, the Italians who suffered deportation, imprisonment, death, and those who in different fields and camps, have opposed the project of extermination, and at the risk of their lives they have saved more lives and protected the persecuted ". This is the law No. 211 of July 20, 2000, which established the Holocaust Memorial Day. My tiny contribution just want to remember all victims, including those 700,000 Italians in uniform who, too often , are forgotten. not to strike them. few days ago I wrote about how, in a 2010 work hard but intense, has been able to know a lot of interesting people, all thanks to the network. Today I want to mention a great little success . Me and Cristina there are "popular" reading and appreciating their blog for over a year ago. We more or less the same job, some might say that we are competitors, using language maybe already dead and buried. We started to interact, to confront each other about experiences, about the work we were doing on the subjects that interested us . Between work and another, between one meeting and a conference, simply and spontaneously. We have given advice and "advice" to each other, without having to sign papers or agreements, just for the pleasure of sharing some aspects of our work. time lost would say maybe our accountants, quite the opposite in fact.
Unlike me, Cristina writes books for work, edited by FrancoAngeli . From our conversation about the usefulness of keeping a blog for work (according to some further loss of time that does not explain why one should do anything without being paid for it), they have created a kind of interview, done via Skype One morning, some time ago. On the things that we said you wrote a box and put in his new book, as a small success. A book which I have already spoken , I'm re-reading these days and that I recommend to everyone. A small detail: I am Cristina and we have never seen in person . We tried but we have not been found yet, perhaps fill this gap in Modena, the first of February. Or maybe we will continue to talk like old friends and colleagues via email, via Skype, comments on their blog on Friendfeed. Sometimes you realize you're really enormous opportunities that the network offers a simple and immediate . Only a few years ago, Cristina and I would see us at some conference, maybe watch a bit 'wrong' Cause we do the same work and point to the same companies. With the network we mature, sometimes almost unconsciously, but we do . Meanwhile, Cristina has a lot of irons in the fire but do not want to anticipate anything. In a meeting that I did yesterday with a client if they have spoken at length because it is an Italian company with several subsidiaries in the world and needs to communicate better. But I can not but admire the work and ideas of Steve Jobs. From today, my esteem for him is further increased because decided to give priority to its team . It did not use innovative platforms or glaring way, he sent a simple email. This means to put first the people who work with you, regardless of how, when and why you speak to them. We (in Italy) will see only the decline of the shares (-6% in trading yesterday on the markets Europe) and we have doubts about the company's future plans. But the problem is ours. We are not used to detect the respect and trust in employees as an important thing. For us it is too revolutionary.

There are some small but important things that you inject an incredible enthusiasm and unexpected . The event made by ACTA yesterday at the Milan Triennale is, without doubt, one of them. A real theatrical show in which professionals have done for the day, the nonprofessional actors. And they were very good. They made it clear to many people, all side Agora in the next room, our lives and our world in a particular way, ironic and effective, and realistic drama . Okay, a nice event, a nice idea, but then what? Then they created a debate peer inside the room, speaking for those who had come to see and then directly explaining the reasons for the association, its needs, its goals. A success, but there's more. And here I bring my own experience of the event.
I got there early, because I know some people live ACTA I often hear on the network. The Argentine director Marcela Cerla a crazy bundle of energy, looked at me and I was immediately enlisted in the show. I made the cloud . When will more videos and photos from the event will be understood better. I have not had time to get there that I had become one of them quickly . Without forms or form, only pats on the back, smiles, jokes, discussions. All in five minutes and people who had never personally seen in my life. An enthusiasm that is rarely concentrated in one place. Different people, all very serious in the tests, all very nice during the breaks. And we went on stage . My role lasted 10 seconds but do the ritual drama of "shit, shit, shit" all together at the beginning, it was great.
Yesterday I felt part of ACTA so instinctive, direct, personal . I should point out that yesterday was just a person interested in a project, I was neither a member nor registered . Today they are. Why idea I had first hand experience and I know people who have within them the will to reach a goal , let's face it, very ambitious: to give light to the invisible , defend and promote their role in society and in ' Italian economy. If yesterday we are more visible, we have to say thanks to them. Who have spent hours of their free time to try a really good show. The best way to truly understand the manifesto of self-employment ACTA was looking at people who were there to pray. "I am free, non-professional, because you can not be at the same time, free and professional" was told by one of them. Also there was something about me. And another part of what I really found after the show.
Want some advice? It is not depressed, outside your door there is a lot of wonderful people to know and to remember after so many years. We can only throw . As he sang Battiato, the clouds can not wipe out the sun . And clouds, through ACTA, since yesterday I mean.

The 15 days of vacation can be very useful. Why return to work with an open mind with new ideas, with a fluid thought, things that make you question views a month before considered untouchable. The dogmas had raised the same way as professional and you will not even realize you were made. A meeting with a client, my first day back to work operational. We talk about planning, strategy, messaging, segmentation, linguistic analysis, all to develop, in short, a draft notice. I feel clear in my head that I wanted to follow the path had some areas for improvement, perhaps to rethink and reassess . It was the client that made me turn on some light bulbs, which shows clearly and clear that we are doing the right thing. Together.
I came home and I have written, in ink, the concepts to revise the messages to be change, new ideas to review. I went to recover a couple of books to refresh the theory, interested in a couple of presentations on Slideshare, and wandered a bit 'on Google . The dark areas are now mostly, the ideas have come out freely and customer suggestions have been incorporated in the right place. The work is, absolutely, "in progress" but the road is much more enlightened. Why I was able to look critically at my work, derived from self-indulgence without simple lack of time or objectives too restrictive.
Go to the library, search the Internet, listen to new opinions are things that are often not so easy to do. We tell ourselves that we do not have time because we have so many things to think about . All true and all lies, at the same time. Those things we can do much better if our mind is free to observe, reflect and meditate. The time to improve our work we must always find , without apology and cling to various dogmas. Having talent is to understand that you can do better Antoine Albalat wrote 110 years ago. A sentence to ponder.

Today is January 3rd, I'm still on vacation (though it is a contradiction since I am the boss of me but I like to think so) and I was putting in place a bit 'of material. Reviewing the various information, I realized that those more interesting, more reasoned, more intelligent than I found on almost all my sites, blogs or social networking reference . Google searches have been very unsuccessful and made me lose a lot of time. For heaven's sake, far from putting me in into question "the big G," which use a lot of things, from the mail reader, the documents to the maps (as well where I'm writing them now, so to speak). I noticed that only this year I did research effective only in known places, created by people known or reported . Finding some real treasures.
example? I make them happy, because they can be useful to many, besides me. I said that 2011 will be my year and I want to share good start :
