Interessante l'articolo uscito oggi su Repubblica a cura della scrittrice del New York Times Jane E. Brody, dal titolo : " Bambini sporchi e sani ". L'articolo parla della scoperta degli immunologi secondo cui ambienti troppo asettici diminuiscono le difese dell'organismo e ciò sembrerebbe spiegare perchè i immune system disorders such as multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, asthma and allergies, have increased significantly ; ... children reared in an aseptic and ultra are not exposed to those organisms that help them develop appropriate control circuits of the immune system.
The journalist, known for his articles which belies the platitudes about health, provides a starting just as interesting: "Given that all instinctive behaviors have a definite advantage for evolution - otherwise, no doubt, would not have lasted for thousands of years - chances are good that even eating a bit of earth or dirt is good for children '
All queste affermazioni ci dovrebbero far riflettere cul comportamento istintivo per eccellenza : la nascita e le modalità di "prima colonizzazione fisiologica" del neonato nelle sue prime ore. Il suo passaggio all'interno della vagina, che per definizione non è sterile, e immediatamente dopo, la prima suzione al seno, rappresentano per il neonato il primo contatto con nuovi microrganismi ma anche la difesa attraverso il latte della madre. Purtroppo l'altissimo tasso di tagli cesarei in Italia incrementa il concetto che la nascita sterile sia maggiormente benefica per il neonato rispetto al parto naturale e, il ritardo della prima suzione con l'abbandono precoce dell'allattamento materno rendono il lavoro del neo-nato sistema immunitario molto more tired and at times prone to allergies and other diseases in adulthood.
